Boy Scouts' Handy Book, Francis H. First and only known edition. This is a rare, rare specimen. Or if you are not in the family way, keep it as a treasured piece of history. A rare and unusual early Boy Scouts of America related title. This extensive hand book of outdoor technique and method was directly associated with the then nascent Boy Scouts of America movement. Aside from the Boy Scouts reference in the title, the Scout Seal and motto are reproduced in pictorial design to the spine. The spine panel reproduces the Boy Scout eagle shield with the "Be Prepared" motto below, while the cover depicts several scouts descending a rocky slope toward a camp by a stream or river bed.
Spine is sun faded, titles legible, but faint. Covers are slightly cracked torn at hinges inside, but sturdy and intact.
Bumping to the edges of the boards and the foot of the spine. As described above, there is some wear in the book, but over all (aside from inscriptions) it is amazingly well preserved. This book was used and by a very conscientious scout.
